Comforting Chicken & Rice Casserole!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups elbow macaroni (or any pasta of choice)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk (whole milk for creaminess)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheeses)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp mustard powder (optional, for extra flavor)
- ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional, for extra richness)
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add pasta and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Cheese Sauce:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute until slightly golden.
- Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens (about 3–4 minutes).
- Add Cheese & Seasonings:
- Lower the heat and add shredded cheddar, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, mustard powder, and garlic powder.
- Combine & Serve:
- Add cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra cheese or fresh parsley if desired.
