  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms (button mushrooms, cremini, or your favorite variety), sliced
  • 1–2 tbsp butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or rosemary)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 slices of bread (your choice – sourdough, whole grain, or white)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for toasting the bread)
  • Parmesan cheese or fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Toast:

  • Toast the bread slices to your desired crispiness in a toaster or on a skillet with a drizzle of olive oil.

2. Cook the Mushrooms:

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release their juices and become tender.
  • Add the minced garlic (if using) and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and fresh thyme.

3. Assemble the Dish:
