This Beef & Veggie Stir-Fry is a perfect weeknight dinner—packed with tender beef, crisp vegetables, and a rich teriyaki sauce that brings everything together. It’s savory, slightly sweet, and full of umami goodness!

Ingredients:

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 500g (1 lb) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (to coat beef)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small broccoli head, cut into florets
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional, for extra depth)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (to thicken)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with cornstarch (this helps keep it tender).
    • Let it sit while you prepare the veggies and sauce.
  2. Make the Teriyaki Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
    • Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned.
    • Remove and set aside.
