Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning (or dried thyme)
  • ½ cup chicken broth (or white wine for more depth)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for a fresh touch)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chicken:

  • Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.

2. Sear the Chicken:

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp: 165°F or 75°C).
  • Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.

3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • In the same pan, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in chicken broth (or white wine) and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  • Add Italian seasoning and lemon juice, stirring well.

4. Combine & Serve:

  • Return chicken to the pan, spoon the garlic butter sauce over the top.
  • Simmer for 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

5. Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, or rice.
  • Pair with a side of crusty bread to soak up the sauce!

Tips for the Best Garlic Butter Chicken:

  • For extra depth of flavor, marinate the chicken with salt, pepper, and a little olive oil for 15–30 minutes before cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) without overcooking.
  • If using chicken thighs, adjust the cooking time slightly as they may take longer to cook.
  • To make the sauce creamier, add a splash of heavy cream or a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste and texture!
