Flaky croissants filled with peaches and cream cheese.
Peach & Cream Cheese Croissants
A delightful treat that’s flaky, creamy, and full of sweet peach goodness!
A perfect combination of flaky, buttery croissants with a creamy, sweet filling, and juicy peaches!
Ingredients:
- 1 package (8-10) crescent roll dough (or 4 croissant dough sheets)
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large peach, peeled, pitted, and diced (or use canned peaches, drained)
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sprinkling on top)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
2. Prepare the Peaches:
- If using fresh peaches, peel and dice them into small chunks. If using canned peaches, drain them and chop them into smaller pieces.
3. Assemble the Croissants:
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the crescent roll dough package (usually 375°F or 190°C).
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture on the wider end of each triangle.
- Place a few pieces of diced peaches on top of the cream cheese filling.
- Roll up each triangle starting from the wider end to form a croissant shape.
4. Egg Wash (Optional):
- For a golden finish, beat the egg and brush a thin layer over the croissants. This will help them get a beautiful golden brown color while baking.
5. Bake the Croissants:
- Place the assembled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle with a bit of sugar on top if you want extra sweetness and a bit of crunch.
- Bake according to the package instructions (usually about 12-15 minutes) until golden brown and flaky.
6. Serve:
- Let the croissants cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack!
Tips & Variations :
- Peach substitutes: If peaches aren’t in season, feel free to use other fruits like berries, apricots, or even apples for a different twist.
- Make ahead: You can prepare the croissants the night before, cover them with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake them in the morning!
- For extra flavor: Add a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg to the cream cheese mixture for a warm, cozy note.
Enjoy your meal!
