Ingredients:
1- For the Salmon:
- 2 salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil)
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 tbsp green onions (chopped, for garnish)
2- For the Teriyaki Sauce:
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp mirin (optional, for extra depth)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water, for thickening)
3- For Serving:
- 1 cup cooked rice (white, brown, or jasmine)
- 1 cup steamed or sautéed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, snap peas)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, mirin, ginger, and garlic. Heat in a pan over medium heat. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and simmer until thickened (1–2 minutes). Remove from heat.
- Cook the Salmon: Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Glaze the Salmon: Pour the teriyaki sauce over the salmon and let it coat for 1–2 minutes.
- Serve: Plate the salmon over cooked rice with steamed or sautéed vegetables. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
